In/Visibility in NYC’s Fashion Industry

This panel of Black leaders in the NYC fashion industry will discuss the in/visibility of Black students, designers, leaders, and brands in NYC’s fashion landscape, as well as the importance of Black entrepreneurship and a diverse workforce to the growth, sustainability and innovation of the larger fashion ecosystem. The panel will feature Adrienne Jones (Professor of Fashion at Pratt) as moderator in conversation with Ibada Wadud (owner of Lulah Bags), Sue Rock (owner of Sue Rock Originals), Janet Rodriguez (Director of SoHarlem) and Aliyah Jacobs (Pratt Fashion alumnus & founder of Skinns The Label).

This panel is part of the BLM Pratt 2020 Teach-In, and was organized by Made in NYC, an initiative of the Pratt Center for Community Development that supports thousands of NYC’s manufacturers and makers by giving them the tools to grow their companies.
