Anushka Vaidya

MFA Interior Design, 2023
Anushka Vaidya is a second year MFA in interior design at Pratt Institute. Her tryst with design began at a very young age. Born into a family of doctors and architects, she realized she was drawn towards the latter. Her grandparents' home in Mumbai— where she spent lots of time—was designed by her grandfather who owned the only architecture firm in Thane at the time.

After receiving an undergraduate degree in architecture, she went on to study interior design at Pratt Institute in New York and spent her first year interning at Rottet Studio and visiting popular restaurants and art exhibits. She believes design is about simplicity—a strong sense of geometry, a statement color or texture; a process which evolves with us. It is about learning new things every single day while viewing the same things through a different lens time and again.

Food is everything to her. She loves cooking food, reading about food, looking at food and especially loves eating food.
