New Lots Plaza, East New York
Working with the Local Development Corporation of East New York and other partners, the Pratt Center has designed a plan for the large lot at the corner of New Lots Avenue and Barbey Street in East New York. Currently, it is the home of the ENY Farms! market.

The Corner of New Lots Avenue and Barbey Street today.
This project is a social venture collaboration between the Local Development Corporation of East New York, Jackson Development Group, Armstrong Equities LLC, the Local Initiative Support Corporation (LISC) and the Pratt Center. In response to a HPD Cornerstone Program RFP, the team submitted a proposal to develop the site.
The project will address some of the most critical needs facing the community of East New York.
- Affordable housing
- Access to fresh, nutritional foods.
- Healthy living environments, that are achievable through the use of sustainable building methods and energy efficient technologies.
- Local economic development and job creation.
The five-story, mixed-use project will include:
- 60 units of affordable rental housing.
- 6,000 square feet of retail space that will be used as a combined entrepreneurial incubator and food market cooperative.
- An outdoor farmer's market, which will effectively preserve 5,000 square feet of the ENY Farms! Market that has been operating on the site for the past six years.
- Over 12,000 square feet of community and open space.
- 8,000 square feet of surface parking

The same corner, with new mixed-use development.
The building has been designed to employ green building and energy efficient technologies.
This project will not only revitalize New Lots Avenue as a place to live and work, but serve as a sustainable model for future affordable housing developments in NYC and elsewhere.
