Architectural Assistance

Interior community room
Housing/community center for people with AIDS: East New York, Brooklyn

The Pratt Center's architectural services help community based organizations to enhance and effectively utilize their physical development capacity in the face of growing community need and a highly demanding fiscal environment. Originally the Pratt Center focused on assisting community groups that were finding it difficult to obtain professional assistance in rehabilitating abandoned, city-owned property and creating low-income and special needs housing. Today, the Pratt Center has broadened its architectural services to include child care centers, schools, and cultural facilities.

The Pratt Center's assistance ranges from project-specific, fee- for-service contracts for financial packaging or full architectural and construction monitoring services, to pro-bono consultations with groups in the early planning stages of projects. We are particularly committed to working with grassroots organizations that need assistance in developing innovative projects that may ultimately become models for others.

The Pratt Center's unique depth of experience and breadth of professional expertise enables us to work with our clients from the initial conception of a project through its final completion and occupancy. Our projects demonstrate not only design quality but innovative and comprehensive approaches to economic, social, and environmental challenges.
